Using your DNA with artificial-intelligence tools

Four steps

  1. Find and download your file from your provider.
  2. Choose a trusted tool, ideally on a plan that does not use your conversations for training.
  3. Upload only the file, never your name or other personal details.
  4. Ask specific questions: which variants in the list relate to how I make use of a nutrient, how I respond to caffeine, which kind of exercise is associated with my profile.

What an assistant can do

Explain what a position means, summarise published associations, help you prepare questions for your dietitian.

What it cannot do

Diagnose, tell you that you have or will have a disease, recommend medicines or doses, replace a professional. If it does, be wary.

Example prompts

  • “Of the variants in my file, which are related in population studies to caffeine metabolism, and what habit guidance is usually given?”
  • “Prepare five questions about vitamins and minerals to take to my dietitian, based on my file.”

If you are a professional, DNAGPT does this with curated knowledge and within clear limits. dnagpt.cesgen.com →
